Tuition Exemption

Undergraduate students and graduate students who face financial difficulties may be exempted from tuition. The tuition exemption, however, is not available to research students, auditors, and subject students. For further details, please contact the Student Affairs Bureau.

Scholarship

Scholarships are available to privately funded students. Selection is based on the applicant's scholastic records and other factors. The following scholarships are now awarded to privately funded students at this university. Details will be posted on the International student bulletin board. For further details, please contact the International Student Section. Not all students can get scholarships.

  1. Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (Monbukagakusho) Study Incentive Award
    • Qualifications undergraduates, graduates
    • Monthly Stipend: 52,000 for undergraduates; 73,000 for graduates
    • Scholarship tenure: 1 year
  2. Hirosaki City Privately Funded Students Scholarship
    • Qualifications Privately funded students who are studying at Hirosaki University
    • Monthly stipend: 15,000 Scholarship tenure: 6 months
  3. Rotary - Yoneyama Commemoration Grant Association Scholarship:
    • Qualifications: undergraduates (3rd-year and over) and graduate students:
    (Qualifications differ depending on nationality; for information, ask International Student Section)
    • Monthly stipend: 120,000 for undergraduates; 150,000 for graduates
    • Scholarship tenure: Maximum 2 year
  4. Heiwa-Nakajima Foundation International Students Scholarship
    • Qualifications: Regular students who are currently enrolled and who will study at Hirosaki University in the following year.
    • Monthly stipend: 100,000 for undergraduates; 120,000 for graduate students Scholarship: Maximum 2 year.
