[Award] The 2013 Presentation of a Trophy for the Hirosaki University Special Science Award (the Endo Award) Held.

On Apr. 22, 2014, the trophy for the Hirosaki University Special Science Award (the Endo Award) was once again presented.

Consisting of two opportunities, the Hirosaki University Special Science Awards include the “Hirosaki University Special Award, Endo Award” for publishing a unique and higly comprehensive article and the other is the “Hirosaki University Young Distingusihed Article Award” for publishing a unique article that shows future potential. The program was founded in 2011 in order to improve the research level of Hirosaki University by rewarding articles that make significant contributions.

In 2013, the Special Award was presented to two people, and the Young Distinguished Article Award was presented to two people, as well. On December 13, 2013 the Special Science Award (the Endo Award) ceremony was held and extra prizes (the trophies) were given to the Endo Award recipients. The trophy, which is quite valuable, was created one for this award by President Miyata of Tokyo University of the Arts.

President Sato gave trophies to Professor Asada Hideki and Professor Sawada Hideo, Faculty of Science and Technology, recipients of the Endo Awards. The professors gave adresses stating that these articles were the products of Hirosaki University reserach. They also mentioned that the awards would enable them to devote themselves to further research.
Former University President, Endo, who is the founder of the Special Science Award, said that he would like to see the awards target young researchers, who are at the forefrount of improving research at this university.

The ceremony was attended by Kashiwakura, Directore of Research and Dean Miyanaga, of the Graduate School of Science and Techonology. Those who spoke were filled with praise for the tremendous contributions of the winners.
