【NEW PUBLICATION】The Origin and Evolution of Anesthesia in Japan, Akitomo Matsuki, Emeritus Professor of Anesthesiology

The Origin and Evolution-表紙

Anesthesiology is one of the clinical specialties which have developed since the end of the Pacific War in Japan. Before the war, even lung surgeries for lung tuberculosis were performed under local anesthesia supplemented with subcutaneous morphine in the country, while general anesthesia using tracheal intubation was widely employed in the United States. This book clearly unfolds the main reasons why the advance in anesthesiology was retarded in Japan before the end of the Pacific War.
