School of Health Sciences
Overview
The School of Health Sciences is one of Japanese leading providers of health science education and comprises five departments. Through its predecessor (School of Allied Medical Sciences), it has had a long and distinguished history in the education of health professionals. The School is located at the Honcho campuses and approximately 800 students are enrolled in the school. The mission of the School of Health Sciences is to provide high quality and relevant education for the health professions conducting research to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of individuals developing efficiency of health highly.

Department of Nursing
To nurse a person means to support the patient’s healthy living by accepting his or her lifestyle holistically and meeting his or her individual needs. As human life, growth, development and health are closely related to our environment, we consider the science of nursing to consist of four basic and interrelated elements: humans, environment, health and nursing.
Department of Radiological Technology
In order to keep astride with recent rapid developments in medical radiation technology, the Radiation Technology Course ensures that students learn a wide range of subject matter, from fundamental radiation technology to advanced specialized topics.
Department of Medical Technology
This course aims to educate clinical laboratory technicians with the knowledge and skills to handle advanced specialized medical tests including genetic testing. Students will apply their skills in practical problem-solving situations as they strive to develop sound judgment, creativity, intelligence and a rich sense of humanity.
Department of Physical Therapy
The purpose of physical therapy is to recover or maintain activity, posture, and motion-related functions through the scientific application of physical means such as exercise, heat, ultrasound, and prosthesis, so that patients whose motor function is compromised due to disability, disease, or injury may be able to have improved social life. Physical therapy has recently taken important roles such as health enhancement and preventative care for middle-aged and elderly people, as well as physical conditioning for sports athletes.
Department of Occupational Therapy
In patients with mental or physical disabilities caused by mental illness, physical ailment, or aging, occupational therapy helps restore the ability to live independently through various occupational activities.
